SKC closing log

The Skull Knight's Clan is CLOSED. It was closed by Mark on 20th February. His point of view at the time is best revealed by his quotes:
"I'm sure you'd continually provide feedback on whether its been possible to merge or not so i know whether to begin taking down the forum." - Before closing the boards.
"if SKC stays people will take advantage and steal whats left of it." - After the closing.
"SKC has failed therefore it closes, it as simple as that." - His point of view, in short.

The clan was closed because of in-activity, even though it was in a middle of a merging process. The pretext was ESM's message in the clan's shoutbox, stating that SKC will probably merge with TEH and he will see the members of SKC there. Mark thought that it was a promotion of another clan and was informed that it was not officially merged. Therefore Mark closed the boards to let people decide what clan to join by themselves, despite the fact that if TEH would have agreed to merge, the members of SKC would have had some more permissions than normal users and that TEH was their only decision, judging from the polls. That led to users not being able to access the board therefore not being able to keep in touch with other members of the clan. Nothing helped to change Mark's decision and it seemed that Mark didn't believe SKC could get back on feet by itself.

The merge with TEH was unsuccessful though, they could not provide any more permissions. Any more discussion with them is useless as there is no way SKC members could contact each other, making SKC non-existant. Currently ex-members of SKC can join whatever clan they like.

The cause of all that was, of course, in-activity. Only a few people were left in the clan the last few weeks before closing it. The polls had only 6 votes, that means that there were max. 10 active people in the clan at the time. It might be that RuneScape updates caused many people to quit RuneScape or lose interest in clans as they made the Wilderness a non-PK area. It seems that Mark supported that version, but there would have been more members if the members of SKC recruited more often. Strangely, even huge prizes didn't help, and it led to the in-activity.

The closing of the clan might not be permanent though. But it seems so. If someone wish to have SKC revived, please contact Mark at mark {at} wizzonline {dot} co {dot} uk .
